For its Spring/Summer 2019 presentation, Italian streetwear label GCDS transformed the runway into a deliberately surreal, science-fiction spectacle drawing on 1980s and 1990s visual culture, cartoons, and manga. Several models appeared wearing a third prosthetic breast positioned between their natural breasts, an anatomically impossible detail that turned the body itself into a piece of futuristic fashion imagery. The effect was less a conventional product demonstration than a provocation: GCDS used the catwalk to suggest a mutant, post-human world in which exaggerated anatomy, pop fantasy, and streetwear branding could coexist.
